Hello everyone!  This is just a reminder that the May LUG meeting  will be at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 14th. Directions: When you arrive at Rasmussen College take the elevator to the third floor then turn right and walk straight into the meeting room (Boardroom). Tonight’s presentations are:

  • Maintaining a Local Dev Meetup – Jacob Roufa is going to discuss many of the trials and tribulations associated with keeping a development group vibrant. He is going to present many useful thoughts that can be applied to any similar type of organization.
  • Atom Editor – We will look at this newer, free text editor from the makers of GitHub. We will demonstrate how to install. configure, and use this new editor.
  • Linux News – Bring your favorite Linux news highlights of the last month and we will discuss.

RRLug News Update: Meeting Time Change

Rasmussen College in Rockford has seen more of their nighttime classes ending before the previous 9:30pm. As a consequence they have decided to close down the building starting at 8:30pm. This will impact our RRLug meeting length.

Going forward and for the foreseeable future RRLug will meet on the second Thursday of each month, as we have for the last 3 years,  and will have the following changes made to our meeting time:

6:00pm – New start time. The extra half of an hour up front will be reserved for General Discussion.

6:30 – 8:30pm – The presentation portion of our meetings will be between these two hours.
