Our monthly RRLug meeting will run from 6:00 – 10:00 pm on Thursday, September 09th. We are going to use Jitsi again for our meeting. (Best results can be seen with the Brave or Firefox browsers):

September 2021 Virtual Meeting Link

  • General Linux/FOSS Discussion – Feel free to bring any problems and general topics for some lively, informative discussion during our first hour. We will break at the end of the hour and if time permits will resume any further discussions after the presentations.
  • Linux Universal Packages – Sam Williams is going to discuss the 3 primary universal package formats snap, flatpak, and AppImages and how they augment current Linux environments.
  • Discuss Potential Meeting Topics – We will continue our discussion of presentation topics for the remainder of 2021 and see if anyone has given any thoughts on possible providing a presenation.

Our monthly RRLug meeting will run from 6:00 – 10:00 pm on Thursday, August 12th. Tonight we are going to try and see how viable the Jitsi Contact and agenda information is listed below:

August 2021 Virtual Meeting Link

  • General Linux/FOSS Discussion – Feel free to bring any problems and general topics for some lively, informative discussion during our first hour. We will break at the end of the hour and if time permits will resume any further discussions after the presentations.
  • WSL2 – James Shaw is going to walk us through the improvements that can be seen in Windows Subsystem for Linux version2. There has been considerable improvements and many are forced to use it in pursuit keeping their Linux systems up and function.
  • Discuss Potential Meeting Topics – We will continue our discussion of presentation topics for the remainder of 2021 and see if anyone has given any thoughts on possible providing a presenation.
  • Ham Radio Technology – Looking at amateur radio as an adjunct springboard technology into cyber security. Will be playing a presentation on the subject from a recent security conference if time permits.
