The November RRLug meeting will be held starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, November 9th. Directions: When you arrive at Rasmussen College take the elevator to the third floor then turn right and walk straight into the meeting room (Boardroom). This months agenda is as follows:

  • Graylog – Graylog is a powerful enterprise logging and query engine. Brandon Keep is going to give us a presentation that shows how you can get started with the application. If you are in need of a logging solution this presentation could give you some really great ideas.
  • Linux News – We will discuss and Linux related news items that strike a responsive cord with the membership.

The October RRLug meeting will be held starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 12th. Directions: When you arrive at Rasmussen College take the elevator to the third floor then turn right and walk straight into the meeting room (Boardroom). This months agenda is as follows:

  • GPD Pocket UMPC-Laptop – Joe Granneman is bringing  in his   new hardware acquisition, a GPD (GamePad Digital) 7-inch PC that fits in your pocket! Its a beautiful little machine that comes with 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, and runs Linux!
  • Smoking in Docker – Steve Lembark is going to show how to build a smoke-test engine using Docker images & volumes. CPAN has several smoke-test engines that pull and compile packages on a variety of O/S and Perl platforms. This talk describes the basics of smoke testing, one of CPAN’s engines, and building a hybrid container using an image and volume to provide a stable, maintainable smoke-test environment. The basic approach is applicable to any build-testing environment from nightly builds to project data validation.
  • Linux News – We will discuss and Linux related news items that strike a responsive cord with the membership.
