The February  RRLug meeting had 12 members attending.  We met at the usual time of  6:30pm in the Rasmussen College Boardroom.   Had a couple of new faces in the crowd! We discussed the following:

  • Odroid-C1 – tonight Sam Williams gave everyone a look at the new quad-core arm-based single-board computer (SBC), the Odroid-C1  from HardKernel. We discussed many of the pros and cons of this new computer, as well as compared it to the Raspberry Pi models B/B+.
  • Bash Programming – we started looking  at a simple, yet powerful use of the Bash scripting environment. A challenge was thrown  for any member interested, but the goal was to produce a script that would print out all the meeting dates in a year for a monthly meeting given an arbitrary year. Next month we will look at some of the results.
  • Linux News – Bring your favorite Linux news highlights of the last month and we will discuss.

Hope to see you all there!

  • Awk/Gawk  –  Tracy Henness  gave a really great presentation on the basics of the Awk/Gawk programming language.  It was very informative and something that many members will use whether they are on Linux or not!  Thanks for doing this presentation with last minute notice Tracy!

It was a great meeting and a nice way to end the 2014! Hope to see you all back for our first meeting in January!
